Spanish 202 Pre-Intermediate 2 (Wednesdays)

In this 10-week Spanish 202 (Pre-Intermediate 2) course, covering Units 4–6, you will learn how to describe and compare homes, express preferences, talk about furniture and objects, interact politely in everyday social situations, and discuss past experiences and future plans. You will also learn how to write an article about the most interesting places and activities in your city or a place you have visited.

Practice listening, speaking, reading, and writing through engaging, communicative activities designed to help you use Spanish more confidently in real-life situations.

Key grammar and vocabulary include comparatives, prepositions and adverbs of location, possessive pronouns (el mío, la mía, etc.), the uses of ser and estar, the verbs gustar, encantar, and preferir, the present progressive (estar + gerundio), the conditional forms of poder and importar, the pretérito perfecto, the differences between the pretérito perfecto and pretérito indefinido, ya and todavía no, ir a + infinitive, querer/pensar + infinitive, and exclamatory expressions. Vocabulary topics include types of housing, rooms and parts of a home, furniture, materials and design styles, greetings and polite expressions, asking for and granting permission, making requests and giving excuses, leisure activities, places of interest, and cultural attractions.
